On this flat route, we regroup at the Sugar Mill near Clarksburg (mile 19.5) before returning to Sacramento. To begin, we take the bike trail through Old Sacramento. We cross the Tower Bridge, get on the River Walk Trail in West Sacramento, and take the Village Parkway to Gregory Ave. From the South River Rd, we take Babel Slough Rd to Jefferson Blvd. That brings us to the vicinity of Clarksburg and the Sugar Mill, a bathroom and water stop but likely nothing more. Leaving the Sugar Mill, we travel on the west side and then the east side of the Sacramento River, using bike trails where we can, and then back to Discovery through Old Sacramento. Pace: 14 to 17 mph.
