The route goes up the South entrance to the Summit, where you can enjoy the great views, then head down the North side. Lunch stop in Clayton before continuing to quiet scenic roads of Morgan Territory. 65 mi. Main climbs are up Diablo, with the steepest at the very top, but it's very short, and up to the summit of Morgan Territory Rd. Then some nice downhill!
Take I-80 W, I-680 S, Exit 38 Sycamore Vly Rd, becomes Camino Tassajara, turn R Crow Canyon and R into first driveway of shopping center, Starbucks and Baja Fresh on SW corner. Park in the middle I would recommend 2 water bottles and snacks for the last stretch of Morgan Territory.
